Elastos Web plug-in

When websites and mobile devices get in touch

Kortide recently innovated once again in the area of mobile internet. Through the cross-platform middleware “Elastos”, it’s already easy to write code for all smartphones at once. Simply write an application and it runs everywhere.

Connect web applications with Elastos runtime
Based on this runtime, Kortide’s Mobile Internet division has developed a new technology, called “Elastos Web plug-in”, to bridge standard web pages with the Elastos runtime. This allows web pages to interact with mobile devices. Some key capabilities of Elastos enabled web pages are:

  • Make a phone call from a web page.
  • Automatically backup contacts from a web page.
  • Generate vibrations when a form field is not correctly filled in.
  • Access a secure banking module written in C++, from the web page.
  • Send a SMS directly from a “share this with a friend” link.

Dozens of other examples can illustrate this new concept. By using the Elastos Web plug-in, website designers can implement a large set of new features to differentiate themselves from their competitors.

As for the ActiveX or NPAPI browser plug-ins in the PC world, the Elastos Web plug-in extends your browser capabilities, while making your web pages cross-platform. The plug-in installation is almost automatic, making it easily accessible for everyone.
