About Kortide

Headquartered in Shanghai, China, Kortide is an advanced software development company with international ties, focused on producing the next generation of smartphone platforms. Between its Shanghai headquarters and R&D center in Chengdu, Kortide employs nearly 300 employees.

Kortide was founded by Chen Rong, an expert in computer operating systems, who returned to China from the United States. Since being founded in May 2000, Kortide has been focused on operating systems and other high-tech enterprises. For the last decade, Kortide has acquired Chinese Intellectual Property Rights focused on a new type of integrated network operating system – Elastos, providing a software platform for internet enabled mobile devices, terminal solutions, and technical support services.

Elastos is a safe, flexible, open, internet connected, component based software platform, bringing a new service phone experience to ordinary consumers. With a focus on 3G cellular broadband technology, Elastos brings a new generation of value-added service platform.

In addition to Kortide’s operating system and total system solutions, another advantage that it has Foxconn International Holdings (FIH) as a key strategic partner. This allows Kortide to take advantage of FIH’s production services such as design, molding, machine and design, production, assembly, maintenance, and logistics services. This vertical integration can greatly reduce the procurement costs of new mobile phone hardware. The cost of designing, developing, and producing new mobile phone hardware with FIH can be reduced by 15%.
